Instructional Coach English - MHS

Job Description

Reports to:
Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction Performance Responsibilities:
Provide job-embedded professional development to teachers in the areas of, but not limited to: English Technology Integration Classroom Management / Routines Student Engagement Data-Driven Instruction Plan and deliver professional development to support professional learning related to district and school initiatives. Participate in professional learning as a means to continuously improve him/herself but also in order to present new learning to the instructional staff. -Participate as a member of relevant school and district committees and provide guidance related to curriculum maps, assessments, textbook adoption, data -analysis, and other related topics. Maintain confidentiality of schools, teachers, and classrooms. Prepare forms, records, and reports as requested. Work with the English department chairperson to facilitate English department meetings in which teachers analyze student data, plan instruction, and develop a shared understanding of effective English instruction. Oversee the development and implementation of English interventions and support for students. Support student achievement by gathering and providing resources for teachers to supplement the curriculum. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction or designee.
Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of teaching experience preferred Experience in conducting professional development Teacher Certification in Indiana Past successful experience in classroom management skills Ability to gather, disaggregate, present data In-depth knowledge of best practices Commitment to district initiatives Evidence of successful leadership at a grade level, building level, or district level. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills Proven presentation and facilitation skills Strong organizational and leadership skills Effective interpersonal skills to share research-based instructional approaches and provide advice, mentoring, and coaching to teachers and other staff.
