Role:
Easton Middle School is seeking to hire an energetic and skilled Literacy Coach to join our Instructional Coaching / Interventionist Team. This is a school level leadership opportunity, responsible for working with grade level teams (6-8) and ELA interventionists to support classroom instruction and targeted literacy support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching teachers and Interventionists in understanding and revising curriculum, delivering effective, differentiated instruction, and utilizing data for instructional and programmatic decision-makingOrganize structure of intervention groups, schedules and assign InterventionistsTrain and support Interventionists in using targeted interventions based on individual student needsProvide teachers and Interventionists with grade-level data for formative decision makingIncorporate a variety of assessment strategies in order to inform and modify instructionReview and make recommendations regarding programs and/or materialsPlan and facilitate data meetingsParticipate in scheduled SIT (Student Intervention Team) meetingsCoordinate and communicate with the English Department ChairAssist Interventionists in: providing services to students, troubleshooting student difficulties, assessing student responses to interventions, providing feedback to teachers regarding student progress, modeling if necessary, understanding data results, providing information to teachers to assist in standards-based reporting, communicating student performance issues/needs with other staff and parentsAssist teachers in: modeling lessons or strategies, providing interventions that can be used in Tier I instruction, determining appropriate student groups, analyzing data, ELA program, ensuring instructional consistency across the school, generating data for standards-based reporting, communicating student performance issues/needs with other staff and parentsIs Knowledgeable about Culturally Responsive TeachingMaintains an inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications:
Reading Specialist license (required)English or Elementary license (required)7+ years of classroom teaching experience (required)Middle school experience (preferred)Instructional coaching experience (preferred)
