• Job Summary
• We are contracting for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking to add coaching staff to our team starting in early September 2026. We follow local academic school years, so the opportunity to coach would be from September 2026
• May 2027. We are seeking color guard coaches to instruct elementary and middle school color guard programs in the Coachella Valley. Prior experience performing in color guard is required. Prior experience teaching/coaching is a plus, but welcome all those who are passionate about the activity and education to apply.
• Income
• Depending on your availability, we can contract to have you work anywhere between 2-12 hours per week meaning gross income can range between about $200
• 1,200 per month. This is a great part-time seasonal gig for people who are perhaps currently in college, or looking for a fun opportunity to make additional income while making a difference in our performing arts community.
• Duties
• Instruct elementary and middle school students technique and skills on flag, rifle, and dance.
• Supervise students at all times.
• Create a positive learning environment for our students in the program.
• Be willing to be creative (design choreography/routines).
• Follow basic curriculum provided by our curriculum specialist.
• Communicate with executive director with any questions or concerns that arise while working at your assigned school sites.
• Take attendance at all rehearsals, and relay important performance information to our students.
• Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Performance experience in color guard.
• Interest in working with elementary and middle school aged students.
• Ability to adjust teaching practices based on the needs of your students.
• Ability to get yourself to scheduled rehearsals on time, and ready to teach.
• After school availability (around 12pm-5pm depending on the site)
• If accepted for the position, you will need to be fingerprinted/background checked, and take a TB test in order to work in the schools.
