Teacher Certified in Special Education with a background in Musical Theater

Job Description

The CM Performing Arts Center, a NonProfit Organization is "home" to people from all walks of life who work collaboratively to produce quality theatrical productions. Guided by the values of excellence, diversity and community, we seek to make a positive contribution to arts-education, culture and the quality of life on Long Island. We are seeking a Teacher Certified in Special Education with a background in Musical Theater to join SPARKLE, our educational musical theater program serving neurodivergent students ages 13-19. They will teach foundational musical theater skills, including vocals, acting, light choreography, movement, blocking, and stage performance, adapting instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities. Throughout the program, the teacher will guide students through rehearsals, helping them build confidence, communication, creativity, and self-expression. The program will culminate in a final showcase performance, where students will have the opportunity to celebrate their growth and share their work with family and community.
