STEAM Club Instructor - Part Time Snapology - 4.1 Smyrna, GA Job Details Part-time | Contract $16 - $22 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Paid training Flexible schedule Qualifications School experience Behavioral standards enforcement in schools Experience teaching math Driver's License Math Education Working with students Student engagement classroom management Full Job Description Snapology offers STEM/Lego-based after school programs and field trips at local Smyrna and neighboring school campuses. Job will primarily be conducted on school sites, but opportunities for birthday parties and remote/home office administrative work could be offered based on business needs, individual's strengths and desired work hours. To start you MUST be available Mondays 2:00 - 4:30 and Tuesdays 1:00 and 5:00. Additional days and hours will be discussed once this minimum requirement is met.
Position:
The primary focus of a Snapology STEAM Instructor will be to teach Snapology programs. Instructor's are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are a mobile format (meaning Snapology brings the activities to the school) and are conducted for children ages Pre-K through 5th grade. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to partners and parents with a high degree of professionalism. Classroom experience and demonstrated classroom management skills are required. Teaching degree is not mandatory, but candidate will be required to pass background checks and clearances for working with children. Role & Responsibilities Lead groups of students through Snapology curriculum-guided activities Each class is fully prepared for each instructor - no lesson plan creation needed ! All materials, lesson plans, & paid training is provided . Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies as needed Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions Manage and transport supplies to and from classes Communicate with Snapology leadership and school partner administration on any behavioral challenges or incidents during Snapology programs Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
Criminal and Child Clearances including background checks and fingerprint scanning Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment Education degree or teaching experience preferred; students pursuing a degree in education with classroom experience may also be considered for this position Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Reliable transportation to and from job and training sites with the ability to transport materials Programs Ongoing weekday after-school classes (availability on Mondays & Tuesdays between 1:00 and 4:30PM a MUST) Additional opportunities exist for in-school enrichment and field trips, weekend workshops and/or birthday parties, and school break day camps should you have interest Additional hours available for someone who enjoys organizing, sorting and prepping materials or someone interested in marketing-related activities This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology Instructors typically work between 6 - 10 hours per week, more depending on skill set and interest.
