Job Description

Tiny Steps Learning Center is currently seeking two caring, dependable, and energetic School Age Teachers to join our team! If you enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in a fun, Christian-centered learning environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Position Part-Time School Age Teacher Schedule Monday-Friday:
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM Required availability during: Teacher workdays School holidays and school breaks Summer program (additional hours may be available) Pay $9.00-$16.00 per hour, based on education, experience, and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be comfortable driving the center's van to transport children to and from local schools when needed Experience working with school-age children is preferred but not required Must have reliable transportation Must be able to pass all required background checks and meet North Carolina child care employment requirements Responsibilities The School Age Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-age children while ensuring compliance with all North Carolina Department of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) regulations and center policies.
Responsibilities include:
Safely supervise school-age children at all times. Transport children to and from local schools using the center's van when assigned. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children. Follow all DCDEE licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies. Maintain accurate attendance records and complete all required documentation. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians. Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities. Assist children with homework when appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom. Clean and sanitize tables, toys, and classroom materials daily. Keep classroom supplies and learning centers stocked and organized. Use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behavior. Participate in outdoor play and recreational activities. Work collaboratively with fellow staff members and administration. Attend required staff meetings and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program.
