•6:30 PM Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and safety-conscious Bus Driver & After-School Program Teacher to join our team. In this dual role, you will safely transport school-age students from local elementary schools to our center in the afternoon and lead engaging after-school activities, homework assistance, and classroom supervision until closing.
Key Responsibilities Safe Transportation:
Safely operate the center's passenger bus/van to pick up school-age children from assigned local schools and transport them to the academy.
Vehicle & Safety Compliance:
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate passenger attendance logs, ensure seatbelt compliance, and keep the vehicle clean.
Classroom Instruction & Leadership:
Supervise, engage, and lead students (grades K-5) through afternoon routines, including snack time, outdoor recreation, homework support, and structured enrichment activities.
Behavior Management:
Maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that aligns with state licensing standards and center policies.
Parent & Staff Communication:
Foster positive communication with parents during evening pick-up and collaborate effectively with fellow staff members and leadership.
Center Closing:
Assist with closing duties, ensuring classrooms and shared spaces are clean, organized, and secure at the end of the day.
Qualifications & Requirements Driver Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record (CDL with passenger endorsement is a plus, though standard driver's license with transport experience may qualify depending on vehicle size).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development is a plus.
Experience:
Prior experience driving a passenger bus/van and working with school-age children in a licensed childcare, school, or camp setting.
Background Check:
Must be able to clear a comprehensive FBI fingerprint and criminal background check.
Certifications:
