Job Overview Are you passionate about safety, training, and helping drivers succeed? Transport National is seeking a Driver Trainer to lead driver onboarding, development, and safety initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our drivers meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. The Driver Trainer serves as a mentor and resource for new and existing drivers, helping them build successful careers at Transport National through coaching, training, and ongoing support. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver driver training programs aligned with company policies and FMCSA regulations. Train, coach, and mentor newly hired drivers throughout the onboarding process. Serve as the primary point of contact for new drivers during their first year of employment. Conduct scheduled follow-ups to support driver success, engagement, and retention. Create engaging training materials, including presentations, videos, and interactive learning modules. Facilitate new hire, refresher, and remedial training sessions. Support ELD management and assist drivers with Hours of Service (HOS) compliance issues. Participate in driver safety initiatives, safety meetings, and CSA performance monitoring. Partner with Human Resources on driver recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts. Conduct ride-alongs, driver evaluations, and performance coaching as needed. Travel to company terminals as needed to provide training and support. Assist with load securement training, including tarping, chaining, and strapping best practices. Qualifications Required Valid Class A CDL Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (outlook, excel, word…). One to five years of CDL driving experience or equivalent transportation industry experience. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance requirements, and interstate freight operations. Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Previous driver training, safety, leadership, or mentoring experience. Experience creating training content and adult learning materials.
