In this vital role, you will serve as a proactive advocate for students, guiding them through their academic journey and ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive. You will coordinate student services, facilitate academic advising, and foster an inclusive environment that promotes student engagement and success. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help empower students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their educational goals. Duties Provide personalized academic advising and career counseling to students, helping them develop clear educational pathways and professional plans Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address academic challenges, personal issues, or career concerns Develop and deliver engaging presentations on topics such as study skills, time management, and educational resources through public speaking engagements Utilize student information systems like Ellucian and PeopleSoft to track progress, update records, and generate reports on student performance and retention metrics Mentor students by offering guidance on academic policies, university resources, and compliance with educational regulations including mandated reporting laws Collaborate with faculty and staff to create tailored support plans for at-risk students and coordinate interventions when necessary Assist in recruiting prospective students by participating in outreach events, conducting interviews, and providing comprehensive information about programs and services Maintain thorough documentation of student interactions while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with school policies and regulations Support the integration of technology tools such as Microsoft Office applications for reporting, communication, and data analysis purposes Qualifications Proven experience in education administration or student support roles within academic institutions Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively Familiarity with student information systems like Ellucian or PeopleSoft; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential Experience with individual/group counseling, mentoring, and academic advising Knowledge of educational compliance standards, mandated reporting laws, and school policies Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with a talent for clear, empathetic interaction Ability to analyze data related to student success metrics to inform program improvements Prior experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners University or college experience is preferred; teaching or recruiting experience is a plus Join us in making a meaningful difference in students' lives!
