Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, the Director of Academic Programs and Accountability will lead the district's work in academic programming, assessment, accountability, federal grants, student pathways, data systems, and the Teacher Incentive Allotment. What You Will Lead Assessment and Accountability:
Ensure accurate, secure, and compliant assessment administration while helping leaders understand and respond to results.
Data and Continuous Improvement:
Develop dashboards, monitor district performance, identify trends, and translate data into action.
Academic Programs and Student Pathways:
Strengthen K-12 programs and expand acceleration, advanced academics, and flexible learning opportunities.
Federal Programs and TIA:
Lead grant compliance, program monitoring, reporting, and the district's Teacher Incentive Allotment system.
District Leadership:
Advise the Chief Academic Officer, lead cross-functional work, evaluate programs, and provide campuses with responsive support.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate Valid Texas principal, mid-management, or other appropriate administrative certificate preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design, program evaluation, assessment, accountability, federal programs, grants, TIA, and related compliance requirements Knowledge of student acceleration, advanced academics, graduation requirements, and flexible academic pathways Ability to analyze complex data, evaluate program effectiveness, develop dashboards and progress-monitoring systems, and lead responsive action Ability to design professional learning and integrate technology to improve instruction, assessment, data use, and organizational effectiveness Strong leadership, systems-thinking, project-management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage high-stakes priorities and deadlines accurately and discreetly
Experience:
Minimum of eight years of professional experience in education, including at least five years in an instructional or administrative leadership role Three years of successful experience as a principal preferred Experience leading one or more of the following areas: assessment, accountability, data analysis, academic programming, continuous improvement, federal programs, or
TIA Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assessment and Accountability Lead the planning, administration, security, and evaluation of all district assessment programs, including specialized testing requirements. Ensure compliance with testing procedures, accommodations, training, confidentiality, records retention, and the reporting and resolution of testing irregularities. Support campus testing coordinators and serve as the district testing coordinator, while serving as a liaison with testing vendors, the education service center, and other partners. Monitor accountability requirements and coordinate required reports, presentations, interventions, and improvement processes. Data, Analytics, and Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain district dashboards, performance indicators, reporting calendars, and progress-monitoring systems. Collaborate across departments to ensure data are accurate, accessible, secure, and appropriately used. Analyze performance and program data to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, recommend actions, and support district and Board decision-making. Academic Programs, Acceleration, and Student Pathways Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of K-12 academic programs, advanced learning, acceleration options, and flexible student pathways. Coordinate grade and course acceleration, Credit by Examination, placement decisions, appeals, and communication with students and families. Monitor student access and success in advanced academics, dual credit, AP, OnRamps, CTE, and other rigorous learning opportunities. Lead the review of new and existing programs based on student needs, outcomes, staffing, financial impact, compliance, and sustainability. Federal Programs and Teacher Incentive Allotment Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of assigned federal grants and programs. Collaborate with district and campus leaders to ensure grant funds are appropriately used, documented, and aligned with approved plans. Coordinate TIA data, submissions, training, appeals, designation outcomes, documentation, and external partnerships and leading committee work and system expansion. Leadership and Resource Management Advise the Chief Academic Officer and lead cross-functional work related to academic programs, assessment, accountability, data, grants, student pathways, TIA, and policy. Provide campuses with clear expectations, professional learning, communication, and responsive support. Evaluate programs and initiatives based on outcomes, access, implementation quality, stakeholder input, and strategic alignment. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Board policies, data-governance practices, and district procedures.
