TODDLER TEACHER Young Learners' Montessori | Artesia, CA We are looking for a warm, caring, and passionate Toddler Teacher who truly loves working with young children and is excited to be part of our Montessori community.
ABOUT US
Young Learners' Montessori is a licensed Montessori early childhood centre in Artesia, serving children from 18 months through six years. Our toddler program is built on independence, purposeful work, and respect for the child, in a calm and carefully prepared environment where little ones are trusted to do things for themselves. We are a small, owner-operated school, so you will work directly with our Director rather than through layers of management.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time, in-person position, Monday through Friday, in our toddler classroom serving children 18 months to 3 years.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Prepare and maintain a calm, orderly Montessori toddler environment Guide children through the work cycle, observing closely and stepping back when a child is capable Support toileting, feeding, and self-care routines with patience and dignity Maintain the 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio required under California Title 22 at all times Keep observation notes and share meaningful progress updates with families Partner with co-teachers to keep the classroom clean, calm, and predictable
REQUIREMENTS
Passion for working with toddlers Minimum 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, including 3 units of supervised field experience (California Title 22) Coursework or hands-on experience in infant and toddler development Caring, patient, nurturing, and dependable Commitment to creating a safe and engaging learning environment Able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and move at a toddler's pace throughout the day A Montessori Infant-Toddler credential (AMS, AMI, or MACTE-accredited) is a plus but not required. We are glad to support the right person in pursuing training.
