Our schools are Newport Primary (Grades Pre-K-2); Newport Intermediate (Grades 3-6); and Newport High (Grades 7-12). We provide services to our students and community through the School Based Health Center, Adult Education, Family Resource/Youth Service Centers, and 21st Century Community Learning Center. Districtwide curriculum is being aligned to the new Kentucky Core Academic Standards, and the Individual needs of all students, including special needs and gifted students are addressed through intervention and enrichment. We serve a diverse population and 90% of students are considered at-risk. Early childhood services, improvement of teaching and learning, increased parent involvement, academic and behavioral response to intervention, and building district capacity for providing these services are district priorities.
