Job Description

Mother Catherine Academy is seeking a passionate, faith-filled Elementary Catholic School Teacher to join our close-knit school community. Our teachers play a vital role in nurturing both the minds and hearts of our students in a Christ-centered environment. Position Overview At Mother Catherine Academy, teaching is more than delivering academics — it is a ministry of forming young disciples who grow in faith, knowledge, and character. Our small class sizes allow teachers to build deep, meaningful relationships with every student and family. Key Responsibilities Academic Instruction Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with Archdiocese of Washington Catholic School Standards and Maryland state guidelines. Teach core subjects including reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages active learning, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. Assess student progress regularly and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Catholic Faith Formation Integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values into daily lessons and classroom life. Lead students in daily prayer, participate in school liturgies, and provide meaningful religious instruction. Foster a Christ-centered classroom that promotes spiritual growth, moral development, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Classroom Management & Student Development Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment. Support students' social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs. Collaboration & Professional Growth Work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and specialists. Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and parent-teacher conferences. Commit to ongoing professional growth in both education and Catholic formation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field (preferred). Valid teaching certification (preferred). Experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred. Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills. Passion for teaching young children and a sincere desire to serve in a Catholic school setting. Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to Catholic education and the teachings of the Church. (preferred)
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
