Grade Homeschool Teacher Location:

Las Vegas, NV | In-Person, 5 days/week

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-12:00

PM Hours:

15 hours/week Novel Education Group is seeking an experienced, energetic, and engaging homeschool teacher to support a 4th-grade student with varying academic levels . This is an incredible opportunity to help a student who is new to homeschooling catch up academically, build confidence, and develop a more positive relationship with learning . The student has ADHD, and experience working with students with ADHD is required . She can become easily distracted during instruction and has the most difficulty with reading and spelling . We are looking for a teacher who understands how ADHD can impact attention, executive functioning, working memory, organization, and academic confidence—and who knows how to structure lessons in a way that keeps the student engaged and moving forward. The ideal teacher will have a strong, confident teaching presence while still being energetic, positive, and able to make learning relevant and fun. The teacher should be comfortable assessing a student's current academic skills, identifying gaps, and adapting instruction accordingly. Experience supporting students with dyslexia or reading-based learning differences is a plus, although a dyslexia diagnosis is not currently present.

Subjects:

Core elementary subjects, including reading, writing, spelling, math, and science.

Curriculum:

Customized homeschool curriculum will be provided Key Responsibilities Provide engaging, individualized instruction across core academic subjects Assess the student's current academic abilities and identify areas of strength and gaps in learning Adapt instruction, pacing, and materials based on the student's needs and progress Provide targeted support in reading and spelling Use effective strategies to support a student with ADHD, including clear routines, manageable tasks, movement or attention breaks, visual supports, and varied instructional approaches Maintain a structured learning environment with clear expectations and consistent follow-through Keep the student engaged by making lessons interactive, relevant, and connected to her interests and real-world experiences Help the student develop stronger organization, attention, independence, and learning habits Break larger assignments and concepts into manageable steps without lowering academic expectations Monitor and document academic progress and adjust instruction as needed Build the student's confidence by recognizing progress, identifying strengths, and creating opportunities for success Communicate regularly with the family regarding progress, challenges, and areas of focus Transition effectively between in-person and virtual instruction when the family travels What We're Looking For Minimum 4 years of teaching or homeschooling experience Experience teaching elementary-aged students, particularly 4th grade Demonstrated experience working with students with ADHD is required Strong understanding of how ADHD can affect attention, executive functioning, working memory, organization, and task initiation Experience assessing students and using assessment information to guide instruction Strong reading and language arts instructional skills; experience supporting struggling readers is highly valued Experience with dyslexia or other reading-based learning differences is a plus Ability to differentiate instruction for a student working at varying academic levels Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish clear, consistent expectations Energetic, engaging teaching style with the ability to make learning relevant and fun Patient and encouraging while maintaining a strong and structured teaching presence Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a private homeschool environment Comfortable using a variety of instructional strategies rather than relying on one teaching method Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the family Teaching credential preferred, but equivalent teaching experience will be considered Background check required Professional references available upon request About the Opportunity This is a meaningful opportunity for an experienced educator to help a student reset her relationship with school and learning .
