Lead Kindergarten Teacher

Job Description

Green Meadow Waldorf School is looking for a full-time or job-share/part-time early childhood teacher in a well-established Forest Kindergarten program. This position may be a shared lead position or a full-time lead position, depending on qualifications and availability. Salary will be determined based on educational background and years of experience. Responsibilities
  • Lead a forest kindergarten class of mixed-age children, working collaboratively with experienced lead support teachers
  • Lead circle time, storytelling, songs and seasonal celebrations
  • Guide children through meaningful, practical daily activities, including animal care, gardening, some cooking, and artistic work
  • Support a deepening connection with nature
  • Support the physical, emotional and social development of each child
  • Lead nature walks to the nearby forest and farms and collaboration with other classes and teachers as part of the weekly rhythm.
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and colleagues
  • Manage weekly parent communication, parent meetings
  • Collaborate closely and collaboratively with co-teachers and participate actively in the work of the early childhood section. Qualifications Experience in a Waldorf nature-based kindergarten or outdoor setting as a lead or assistant teacher.
  • Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training (completed, or in progress). We may consider experienced kindergarten teachers who have interest in Waldorf approach to early childhood pedagogy
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with experienced forest educator mentors
  • Be a nurturing, grounded presence and have a genuine love for early childhood.
We offer a warm and supportive collegial school community, strong mentoring support; competitive salary and benefits. Salary dependent upon experience, full time range is $45,000-$78,000.
