Lead Kindergarten Teacher
Job Description
Green Meadow Waldorf School is looking for a full-time or job-share/part-time early childhood teacher in a well-established Forest Kindergarten program. This position may be a shared lead position or a full-time lead position, depending on qualifications and availability. Salary will be determined based on educational background and years of experience. Responsibilities
- Lead a forest kindergarten class of mixed-age children, working collaboratively with experienced lead support teachers
- Lead circle time, storytelling, songs and seasonal celebrations
- Guide children through meaningful, practical daily activities, including animal care, gardening, some cooking, and artistic work
- Support a deepening connection with nature
- Support the physical, emotional and social development of each child
- Lead nature walks to the nearby forest and farms and collaboration with other classes and teachers as part of the weekly rhythm.
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and colleagues
- Manage weekly parent communication, parent meetings
- Collaborate closely and collaboratively with co-teachers and participate actively in the work of the early childhood section. Qualifications Experience in a Waldorf nature-based kindergarten or outdoor setting as a lead or assistant teacher.
- Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training (completed, or in progress). We may consider experienced kindergarten teachers who have interest in Waldorf approach to early childhood pedagogy
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with experienced forest educator mentors
- Be a nurturing, grounded presence and have a genuine love for early childhood.
