Role Description The 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher Intern role is a full-time, on-site position located in Ashburn, VA. The intern supports lead teachers in planning and delivering daily lessons, assisting with small-group instruction, and reinforcing core academic skills in literacy, math, science, and social studies. Responsibilities include preparing classroom materials, helping manage classroom routines, supervising students during transitions and activities, and supporting a positive, inclusive classroom culture. The intern observes and practices instructional strategies, provides feedback to students, communicates with the teaching team about student progress, and participates in school meetings and professional development sessions. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in elementary education while contributing meaningfully to the school community. Qualifications Foundational skills in Teaching and Elementary Education, with a strong interest in working with 2nd and 3rd grade students. Ability to support Curriculum Development and contribute to lesson planning under the guidance of lead teachers. Strong Communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and families in a professional and respectful manner. Background or coursework in Education or a related field; current enrollment in or completion of a teacher preparation program is beneficial. Demonstrated patience, reliability, and a collaborative mindset in classroom settings. Ability to follow school policies, maintain student safety, and uphold confidentiality standards. Basic classroom management skills and comfort using educational technology tools.
