College of The Albemarle, located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is the state's first community college, founded in 1961. We strive to transform lives by inspiring and empowering individuals and communities of our seven-county service area. Through our four locations, we provide quality college transfer and career and technical education to residents in northeast North Carolina. Description The role of the Instructor, Aviation Systems Technology (Part-Time), is to provide knowledge and teach all required modules and course content associated with the Aviation Systems Technology Education's program of study. Various teaching strategies, learning styles, and delivery methods will be utilized to reach this goal. The Instructor, Aviation Systems Technology (Part-Time) receives supervisions from the Program Coordinator, Aviation Systems Technology. Examples of Duties Maintains competency in theoretical knowledge pertaining to areas of instruction. Integrates teaching methods that are student oriented/student focused. Advises the program coordinator of needed supplies for upcoming lessons/AMT projects in a timely manner. Maintains security of equipment assigned to the program. Maintains safety of students in the lab(s) at all times. Prepares for and teaches assigned AMTs. Maintains accurate class and student records as stated in the COA FAA Manual and Handbook.
Typical Qualifications Required :
FAA Airframe Certification and/or
FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification Desired :
Prior teaching experience. Associate degree in Aviation Systems Technology or related field of study from a regionally accredited college or university. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Principles of Aviation Systems Technology Education and FAA AMT Content. The community college system and a commitment to its mission.
