Lake Tahoe Community College California's Premier Destination Community College Toggle navigation Home Search Jobs Log In /Create Account Help Conversation Aide, ISSI Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Information Position Conversation Aide, ISSI Department World Languages Starting Salary Starting at $28.47 per hour Initial Screening Date Preferred Start Date Details Lake Tahoe Community College ( LTCC ) welcomes conversation aides who are willing to lead conversation groups in our Intensive Spanish Summer Institute ( ISSI ) for one week at the end of July. ISSI courses are Spanish courses, taught either predominantly or completely in Spanish; conversation groups should be completely in Spanish. The assignment will be for one week at the end of July, with aides being on campus from 7:30am until 9:30am and 3pm until 5pm. The assignments are based on departmental need on an annual basis. Description Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction. Lead small group conversation groups in Spanish for assigned ISSI course level. Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies and programs of the District. Work cooperatively within the college community. Foster a positive working environment that is free from harassment, prejudice and/or bias. Demonstrate a respect for the dignity of everyone. Employment Standards Education and Experience ISSI Conversation Aides must demonstrate a native-level or near-native-level grasp of the Spanish language and the ability to hold conversations on a wide range of topics within Spanish-speaking cultures. ISSI Conversation Aides are part of the Professional Series of part-time hourly workers. Professional Series titles are used for employees who are experienced professionals in their respective fields, having duties not similar to Classified employees. Highly experienced professionals with consummate, specialized skills, professional certification or licenses, Bachelors, or Master degree preferred. A skilled professional, in general, has the minimum qualifications to perform the professional duties assigned to the position. A highly skilled professional, in general, has at least two years of professional experience performing the duties assigned to the position.
