Job Description

JOB GOAL
To advance the college's mission, vision, principles, values and strategic initiatives through continuous improvement decisions. $1,314 per credit hour of instruction. MKT-110 is a 3-credit-hour course.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to teach MKT-110 Principles of Marketing in Hiawatha for Fall 2026, with the potential for future assignments. Experience working with students or previous training experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must be available to teach face-to-face at the following times: August 25th
  • December 11th Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 am
  • 9:00 am Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need.
Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Be able and willing to deliver courses in variable delivery times, methods, and locations as required by the college. Effectively organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses in accordance with established syllabi to students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on a regular basis. Utilize the Kirkwood Learning Management System to post course syllabi and relevant documents and provide access to the student grade book. Communicate with department staff, students, and faculty regularly.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION
The position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, or business administration, or a master's degree in any field plus 12 graduate semester hours in marketing, advertising, public relations, or business administration
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
: Experience teaching at the college level. Demonstrated commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
