Unit Position SUMMARY:
We are seeking instructors for our pool of Adjunct Faculty to teach various English composition courses on an as-needed basis for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Semesters. Successful applicants would be assigned to teach 3-credit courses in English Composition I or English Composition II. Classes are held on NECC's Haverhill and/or Lawrence campuses. Seeking instructors for primarily day and evening face-to-face classes, which could include Early College classes. Future possibility of online or hybrid instruction exists and would require successful completion of mandatory training. Adjunct faculty will play a critical role in the teaching and learning process, contributing to student success. A list of potential courses can be found online in the Course Catalog. RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach assigned courses according to Academic Catalog description and established departmental student learning outcomes. Adhere to all NECC policies and MCCC contract requirements, including policies regarding grading, deadlines, evaluation process, syllabus requirements, materials posted on the LMS, and required meetings.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in English, Writing, or Literature Experience teaching in a related academic discipline at the college level Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Community College teaching experience Experience with online and hybrid teaching and experiential learning Bilingual (Spanish/English) Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Northern Essex Community College does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).

$1,512.00/credit - $1,826.00/credit, per credit based on DCE step, per the DCE Contract, non-benefited.
