What You'll Do:
Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening Cultivate critical thinking, literary analysis, and strong communication skills Use data to differentiate instruction and drive student success on state assessments (e.g., FAST, EOCs) Build a classroom culture rooted in high expectations, student voice, and academic excellence Collaborate with colleagues to refine curriculum and enhance student achievement Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Maintain consistent and effective communication with students and families Contribute to schoolwide literacy initiatives and a culture of college and career readiness
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree (required) Valid Florida Teaching Certification in English 6-12 (or eligibility to obtain) Experience teaching middle or high school ELA, with a strong track record of student growth Expertise in standards-based instruction and data analysis Proficiency with Google Workspace, SIS, and digital learning platforms Strong classroom management and culturally responsive teaching practices Passion for literacy, equity, and student empowerment
Bonus Qualifications:
Reading Endorsement or Certification (preferred) Experience with advanced coursework (Honors, AP, AICE, or Dual Enrollment) Familiarity with restorative practices and trauma-informed instruction
