This role requires flexibility, cultural awareness, and a commitment to learner-centered teaching. Instructors collaborate with program staff, employers, and learners to ensure a quality curriculum plan and a positive classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing a curriculum specifically tailored to individual employer partners and specific programs to serve English learners at various English levels.
Assess learners' skills and progress using program tools and provides feedback to both learners and program coordinators.
Integrate workplace-specific vocabulary and scenarios to strengthen communication skills relevant to learners' jobs.
Create a supportive, respectful classroom environment that fosters participation, confidence, and skill-building.
Track attendance, learner progress, and submit required reports/documentation on time.
Collaborate with ICRI staff to ensure program quality and alignment with employer and other ESL site needs.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students
Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for teaching English language skills
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students
Organizational skills to plan lessons, manage resources, and assess student progress
