Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic English Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for language, literature, and effective communication. In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, deliver compelling instruction, and support learners in developing their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Your expertise will help students excel academically while nurturing their creativity and confidence. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive curricula that align with educational standards and incorporate innovative learning technology tools. Deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, including creative writing, literacy education, and language arts fundamentals. Utilize the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style guidelines to teach proper writing conventions and editing techniques. Provide personalized tutoring and mentoring to support individual student needs, including those in special education or requiring additional academic assistance. Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive, respectful atmosphere conducive to learning. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives such as literacy programs or library services. Experience Proven classroom experience teaching English or language arts at the middle school or high school level. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning for diverse student populations. Strong background in journalism, creative writing, or linguistics enhances instructional versatility. Experience working with students of varying abilities, including those with special education needs or behavioral challenges. Familiarity with higher education teaching methods or private school environments is advantageous. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and educational administration practices supports effective student assessment and recordkeeping. Excellent communication skills combined with organizational skills to manage classrooms efficiently and foster positive relationships with students and staff alike.
