Lecturer of Geology (Limited Term Faculty)

Job Description

The Department of Chemistry and Geosciences seeks applicants for a Limited Term, Full-time faculty position for the Spring Semester 2027 beginning January 1, 2027, and ending May 28, 2027. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate's area of expertise and providing service to the department, college, and University. We seek a broadly trained geologist to teach introductory geology courses with labs and upper-level courses of mineralogy or structural geology. Additional consideration will be given to candidates that can also teach courses to support new tracks of study in Environmental and Climate Sciences or Environmental Sustainability. Our Environmental Geosciences program is comprised of faculty teaching a broad range of subjects for both non-majors and Environmental Geosciences majors. We offer degree options in Geology, Geography, Environmental Sustainability, Geospatial Technology and Urban Planning, and Environmental and Climate Sciences.

Responsibilities Typical Allocation of Duties :
Teaching and Service - 100% Teaching up to 15 contact hours per semester in a face-to-face and online modality (Fall and Spring) and participating in service at the department, college, or university levels.
