Job Description
S2STEM is seeking an Engineering & Technology Instructor to deliver engaging STEM programs for students ages 6-14. This is a part-time role with the potential to transition into a full-time position. The ideal candidate is flexible, enjoys working with children, and is comfortable teaching both onsite and offsite programs, including after-school classes, weekend sessions, camps, and STEM events. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in engineering, technology, coding, robotics, or game development Support lesson planning and classroom activities using provided curriculum and materials Create a positive, safe, and structured learning environment Manage classroom behavior and keep students actively engaged Support STEM events, workshops, camps, and outreach programs (onsite and offsite) Set up and organize classroom materials, kits, and equipment Collaborate with team members and provide feedback on programs Follow S2STEM safety guidelines and operational procedures Program Schedule & Flexibility Weekday classes (typically 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm) Saturday morning programs Holiday camps and special STEM events Flexible to travel for offsite school programs and community events Hard Skills Basic knowledge of coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Code.org, Python, web design, or similar) Familiarity with STEM tools or kits (e.g.,
Micro:
bit, LEGO robotics, circuits, or similar) Ability to follow structured lesson plans and deliver hands-on activities Comfort using basic classroom technology and digital tools Experience teaching, tutoring, or coaching children Exposure to robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO WeDo, Spike, VEX, Dash/Dot) Experience with game development tools (e.g., Unity) Soft Skills Strong communication and classroom management skills Energetic, engaging, and creative teaching style Organized and dependable Ability to adapt to different age groups and learning styles Team-oriented with a positive attitude Passion for working with children and STEM education Must Have Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to nearby locations Valid work authorization Clean background Availability for weekday evenings and/or weekends Comfortable working with children ages 6-14 Nice to Have (Preferred) Background in engineering, technology, or education Teaching certification or related degree Why Join S2STEM?
