Job Description

Program Support Assistant Part-Time | Monday-Friday | 12:00 PM-4:30 PM Join a team that believes childhood should be filled with wonder, nature, and meaningful relationships. Beaver Brook Children's School is seeking a reliable, flexible, and nurturing Program Support Assistant to join our team. This position plays an essential role in keeping our classrooms running smoothly by providing break coverage, supporting teachers during planning time, covering appointments and meetings, and stepping into classrooms wherever additional support is needed. If you enjoy variety, love working with children of different ages, and thrive as part of a collaborative team, this may be the perfect role for you. Schedule Monday-Friday 12:00 PM-4:30 PM Approximately 22.5 hours per week School-year position with opportunities for additional hours during school vacations and summer camp What You'll Do Provide classroom coverage while teachers take required breaks and planning time Step into classrooms when staff attend appointments, trainings, or administrative meetings Support children ages 1-5 through play, routines, outdoor exploration, and daily activities Assist with transitions, rest time, snacks, outdoor learning, and end-of-day routines Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment Be a dependable team member who is ready to jump in wherever support is needed
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Warm, patient, and dependable Flexible and comfortable working with different age groups and teaching teams Able to think on their feet and adapt to changing daily needs Passionate about child-led, play-based, and nature-based education Comfortable spending significant time outdoors in all seasons A collaborative team player with strong communication skills Qualifications Experience working with young children preferred Coursework or education in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not required Must meet Vermont Child Care Licensing requirements for employment CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage in outdoor play Why Beaver Brook?
