Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Business residential faculty in Accounting to join the Division of Occupational Education. This position provides engaging, student-centered instruction primarily in Accounting, with opportunities to teach Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, and General Business courses based on qualifications and departmental needs. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of five courses per semester in online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities while incorporating effective instructional practices and emerging technologies to support student success.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining five office hours per week, participating in program, division, and college committees and meetings, and contributing to student success initiatives. T may also be opportunities to advise or co-advise the DECA student organization.
This position is for spring 2027.
Essential Functions
Teaches assigned courses in online, hybrid, face-to-face, and other instructional modalities to promote student learning, access, and success, including incorporating appropriate instructional technologies and teaching strategies.
Assesses student learning; evaluates assignments and exams; maintains grades, attendance, and required academic records in a timely manner.
Participates in student success initiatives, advising, mentoring, office hours, and other activities that support student retention and achievement.
Engages in professional service through program, division, college, and district committees; participates in community and university partnerships, advisory boards, outreach, and recruitment activities. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in the teaching field, OR
Master's in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in the teaching field OR
Master's in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 (three) years work experience in the field to be taught, or an associates degree of 64 semester hours and 5 years work experience in the field to be taught
OR
5 (five) years work experience in the field to be taught
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Accounting granted by a regionally accredited college or university
Five (5) years of recent teaching experience teaching Accounting at a community college or university working with underrepresented students and different student populations
Recent experience in teaching online Business courses
Five (5) years of Accounting or Industry experience in one of the following areas: Accounting or Taxation
One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.
