School of Health Sciences General Summary The Faculty and Clinical Coordinator for the Radiologic Technology Program is responsible for coordinating and supporting the clinical education component of the program while also serving as instructional faculty. The Clinical Coordinator works closely with the Program Director, faculty, clinical preceptors, clinical staff, and clinical education partners to ensure clinical education is effectively coordinated with didactic instruction and supports student achievement of program outcomes. This position provides didactic and/or clinical instruction; monitors student progression in the clinical environment; supports the ongoing evaluation of clinical education; participates in program assessment and accreditation activities; and assists in maintaining effective relationships between Odessa College and affiliated clinical education sites. The Clinical Coordinator maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline, educational methodologies, program policies and procedures, clinical requirements, and student progress. Specific Position Duties Essential Faculty Duties Maintain current knowledge and competence in radiologic technology and educational methodologies through continuing professional development. Teach assigned radiologic technology courses, laboratories, and/or clinical education courses in accordance with program and College requirements. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to teach various courses, times, locations, and delivery methods as reasonably required by the College and program. Prepare and maintain course syllabi, objectives, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments appropriate to assigned courses. Provide appropriately challenging learning experiences that promote achievement of course and program outcomes. Develop and administer assessments appropriate to course content and evaluate student achievement of course objectives. Maintain an inclusive, professional, and respectful learning environment that supports student learning, academic honesty, and professional behavior. Arrive prepared and promptly for scheduled classes, laboratories, clinical activities, meetings, and other assigned instructional responsibilities. Present instructional material clearly and effectively and provide students with timely feedback regarding their performance. Respond to student questions and concerns through scheduled office hours, electronic communication, individual advising, and other appropriate methods. Maintain accurate student records and submit required grades, reports, schedules, and documentation in a timely manner. Provide academic advising related to program progression, degree requirements, and completion requirements. Participate in periodic review and revision of course materials and curriculum. Participate in program and College assessment activities. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, clinical partners, and community stakeholders. Participate in appropriate recruiting, outreach, College events, advisory activities, and community service. Participate in College and campus committees as assigned. Clinical Coordinator Responsibilities Correlate and coordinate the clinical education component of the Radiologic Technology Program with didactic and laboratory education. Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical education and participate in continuous improvement of clinical learning experiences. Coordinate student clinical assignments and rotations in collaboration with the Program Director and clinical education partners. Maintain appropriate communication with clinical sites, clinical preceptors, clinical staff, students, and program faculty regarding clinical education. Monitor student clinical progression, competency achievement, performance, attendance, professional behavior, and completion of clinical education requirements. Maintain current knowledge of student progress and communicate concerns regarding student performance to the student and Program Director, as appropriate. Provide clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and feedback to students, as appropriate. Conduct regular communication and/or visits with affiliated clinical education sites to support the quality and consistency of student clinical experiences. Work with clinical preceptors and clinical staff to ensure understanding of program clinical objectives, competency expectations, evaluation processes, supervision requirements, and applicable program policies and procedures. Assist with orientation and ongoing education of clinical preceptors and clinical staff regarding program expectations and clinical education processes. Monitor clinical learning environments and communicate identified concerns involving student supervision, safety, clinical capacity, learning opportunities, or compliance with program requirements to the Program Director. Assist in evaluating clinical sites and clinical education resources to determine their continued effectiveness and appropriateness for student learning. Maintain clinical education documentation and records required by the program, College, clinical affiliates, and accrediting agencies. Coordinate or assist with documentation related to student clinical eligibility and clinical education requirements in accordance with College, program, and clinical affiliate requirements. Support compliance with program policies related to student supervision, clinical competency, radiation safety, patient safety, and professional conduct. Participate in the development, review, and revision of clinical education policies, procedures, evaluation tools, competency processes, and related instructional materials. Participate in program assessment activities, including collection and review of data related to clinical education and student outcomes. Participate in JRCERT accreditation activities and assist with maintaining documentation related to clinical education, program assessment, accreditation review, and continuous program improvement. Support the Program Director in assuring effective day-to-day program operations as they relate to assigned faculty and clinical education responsibilities. Participate in faculty meetings, program meetings, advisory committee activities, and other program functions, as appropriate. Perform other faculty and clinical education duties as assigned by the Program Director or Dean of the School of Health Sciences. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and registration in Radiography, ARRT . Current unrestricted Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license. Minimum of two years of documented clinical experience in radiography. Minimum of one year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited radiography program. Demonstrated proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising. Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, college personnel, clinical preceptors, clinical staff, and clinical education partners. Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of radiologic technology and educational methodologies through continuing professional development. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in radiologic technology, education, health sciences, or a related field. Previous experience coordinating clinical education in a radiography program. Experience with JRCERT accreditation standards and accreditation processes. Experience with student clinical competency tracking, evaluation, and program assessment. Experience teaching didactic and laboratory courses in radiologic technology.

Work Hours:

Varied as required by teaching assignments, office hours, clinical education responsibilities, clinical site visits, program activities, and student needs. Travel to affiliated clinical education sites may be required.
