The university seeks either faculty or exempt staff to serve in the interim leadership role. This is an interim appointment through June 30, 2027, providing leadership continuity while the University conducts a search for a permanent appointment.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Interim Vice Provost for Digital Learning Initiatives leads and coordinates the University's online, distance, and flexible learning strategy --- including academic program development, continuing and professional education, and independent study offerings. The vice provost partners with academic deans, department administrators, faculty, and senior leadership on program planning and implementation, and ensures appropriate participation of faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders in related decision-making. This is an interim appointment through June 30, 2027, providing leadership continuity while the University conducts a search for a permanent appointment.

Required Experience:

Experience leading institutional digital learning initiatives, including course and curriculum development in higher education

Experience using digital learning technologies, including learning management systems, for online, distance, or hybrid education

Experience managing a team or academic unit in higher education involving interactions with faculty, staff, and administrators

Familiarity with program assessment, student learning outcomes, accreditation, and compliance requirements for online programs

Applicants:

This is an interim appointment through June 30, 2027. Applications must be received by September 29, 2026 for first consideration. The interview process is anticipated to begin the week of October 5 with an appointment being made early October. In addition to the online application, applicants must submit a resume/CV and a cover letter addressing the required qualifications and experience related to the job responsibility areas. The appointment will be at least .5 FTE and is negotiable depending on the incumbent's ability to adjust their current workload. Both faculty and exempt staff are eligible to serve in the interim leadership role. The selected incumbent's time will be bought out for at least .5 FTE, and a stipend will be provided commensurate with experience.
