Job Description

Position Summary:

As part of the athletics senior management team, the Assistant Athletics Director position will provide directionand oversite for broadcast production, game day operations, student employment, and

CACC/NCAA

hostedtournaments. They will also serve as assistant sports information director for specific sports. The position worksclosely with administrators from various GCU offices (Security, Catering, and Special Events). Otheradministrative assignments will also be included in the position. The position reports directly to the Direcotr ofAthletics and will serve on their leadership team. In all areas of the position, exemplify the Mercy Core Valuesof Respect, Service, Integrity, Justice, and Compassion.

Essential Functions:

Event Management (50%)Manage the broadcast production including set-up, troubleshooting, broadcasting, and all activitiessurrounding the web stream.



Lead administrator for all conference and NCAA tournaments at GCU.Scheduling/supervising of event staff and event set up and breakdown, training & managing of work-study and GCU staff for game day operations.



Coordinate and manage department special eventsSport Communications (30%)Serve as assistant SID with selected sports (Genuis and/or Presto Sports statistics)Assist with social media platformsAssist with training of student-staff on statistics programs for in-game managementAssist with development of interns and volunteer staffAdministration (20%)Engage in strategic planning with administrative team to enhance and strengthen the department toachieve program goalsReview department policies and practices to identify opportunities and implement procedures toenhance department operationsAssist and participate in department search and hiring processesScheduling/supervising of student-workers and staff of the fitness centerServe as an athletic department resource and liaison to the campus community including serving oncampus committees as appropriateOther duties as assigned by the

Director of AthleticsQualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required, master's preferred3-5 years of experience working in collegiate athletic environment (Div II preferred) Excellent organizational skills and detail orientedFlexible hours including some nights and weekendsStrong ability to communicate both orally & in writing with multiple stakeholders (administrators, student-athletes, alums, community partners, coaches, etc.)Technologically proficient and adaptable to new technology; social media proficiencyStatistical software knowledge preferredKnowledge of NCAA Division II compliance within the areas of the positionWillingness to embrace the Mercy Core Values or Respect, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Service.
