Fallingwater Institute Program Manager Fallingwater (Mill Run, PA) Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seeking a fulltime Fallingwater Institute Program Manager. Under the general direction of the Senior Director and Curator of Education, the Fallingwater Institute Program Manager's responsibilities comprise the coordination of Fallingwater Institute's onsite, studiobased education programs, which include High School Residencies, College Residencies, workshops and residencies for adult professionals, and the artist/scholarinresidence program. The Fallingwater Institute Program Manager maintains the studio at High Meadow. They are also responsible for collaboration with and supervision of contractors who are working as instructors and house parents. Job Duties Supports the Senior Director and Curator of Education in the development and daily management of onsite Fallingwater Institute education programs. Serves as onduty point person when Fallingwater Institute programs are in session, including supervision of staff and students during afterhours museum access. With the Senior Director and Curator of Education, provides guidance and assistance to contractors who work as residency instructors and house parents, as needed. Completes administrative duties related to Fallingwater Institute programs, such as serving as the primary contact for participating students/parents; maintains program calendar/schedule to make sure details are communicated to staff and participants; coordinates tours, meals, and materials for FI education programs, and makes travel arrangements for visiting instructors, artists, and scholars. Coordinates registration and admissions processes for all Fallingwater Institute programs by collaborating with Visitor Services Department and communicating with program participants before and after education programs. Actively maintains program rosters on an ongoing basis. Manages the Cheteyan Studio at High Meadow, which includes a fully equipped woodshop and flexible art studio space. Maintains supply inventory and purchasing, based on instructors' supply request. Ensures appropriate use of materials and equipment by all program participants during programs, and oversees prep/cleanup of studio spaces, materials, and equipment. Ensures that studio supplies are replenished between education programs, as needed. Serves as point of contact for students, parents, and contract staff such as instructors and house parents while programs are insession. Leads guided tours of Fallingwater as needed, especially during spring and fall seasons. Attends Education Department professional development training sessions and completes enrichment assignments. Promotes an effective system of communication, including email and the intranet, throughout the education program. Checks the Fallingwater Institute email account regularly, with responses sent in a timely manner, to ensure the best in customer service for our program participants. Supports the Conservancy's mission, cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable. Ensures compliance with Conservancy's policies and procedures. Maintains Fallingwater Institute alumni records. Works independently and collaboratively with all of the above responsibilities. Contributes to other education programs such as public tour, school programs, and outreach programs as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree - preferably in museum education, art/design education, studio art/architecture/design, art or architecture history, museum studies or closely related field of study, and/or seven or more years professional experience working in studio artbased education, museum education or informal education. Knowledge of and experience with studio artmaking materials and processes. Excellent writing, speaking, organizational, project management, and interpersonal communication skills, including K12 classroom management skills. Customer service skills and experience working directly with customers. Ability to craft and implement educational programs for children through adults, including age/ developmentally appropriate curriculum. Experience with educational program assessment and evaluation. Able to develop and manage complex projects and adhere to budgets Able to work both independently and in crossfunctional teams. Creative problemsolving skills. Computer literacy, particularly in word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, Zoom and/or Teams, webbased software for creating and managing forms. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays and flexibility with schedule and hours is required.
