Elementary School PrincipalPrimary Purpose:
The Dean of Climate and Culture drives K-8 cultural initiatives, oversees student discipline, and coordinates MTSS. This role provides strategic leadership for the 6-8 Middle School Hub, ensuring our oldest students receive the behavioral and social-emotional guidance necessary for success.
Key ResponsibilitiesSchool Culture and ClimateDevelop, implement, and maintain school-wide cultural expectations, routines, and procedures in alignment with the mission, vision, and values.
Conduct classroom walkthroughs with feedback and support across all hubs (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) to assess school climate, student engagement, and the implementation of behavioral routines.
Develop and oversee student leadership initiatives, such as student council, cross-grade classroom buddy systems, and peer mentoring to foster student agency and K-8 community cohesion.
Lead the planning and execution of school-wide community events, assemblies, and culture & climate programs.
Foster a restorative, rather than purely punitive, approach to student discipline and peer conflict.
Middle School (6-8) Leadership & SupportPartner with the Principal to drive middle school academic excellence by overseeing instructional practices, coaching, and student data analysis.
Partner closely with the 6-8 Grade-Level Hub Lead to design middle school-specific routines, transitions, and privileges.
Serve as the highly visible, primary point of contact for 6-8 students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and transitions.
Act as the primary administrative liaison for middle school families regarding behavioral and cultural concerns.
Lead the development and implementation of the middle school advisory program including curriculum and mentoring.
Behavioral Intervention and SupportLead and manage the schools Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Framework and Peace Warriors.
Monitor and manage daily behavioral needs.
Review and interpret behavioral data and implement strategic Tier I interventions.
Manage the school's discipline system and consequence ladder, ensuring equitable application across all hubs (K-2, 3-5, 6-8).Facilitate restorative conversations and peer mediations to resolve conflicts and rebuild community trust.
MTSSEstablish and communicate clear, written roles & responsibilities for all faculty & staff involved in MTSS.Provide and/or coordinate MTSS-related professional learning for faculty & staff.
Oversee the development, implementation, progress monitoring, documentation, and communication of schoolwide student intervention plans to key stakeholders.
Lead data team meetings to ensure students are accurately identified and matched to appropriate supports.
OperationsCoordinate arrival and dismissal procedures.
Support and implement emergency procedures.
Organize and provide support for lunch duty.
Facilitate and monitor student transitions.
Organizing and facilitating field trips/ signature tripsStandardized Testing OrganizationOther duties as assigned.
A minimum of 3-5 years of effective or highly effective teaching experience.
Experience in a leadership or quasi-leadership role (e.g., Grade Level Chair, Teacher Leader, or behavior support).Strong collaboration, organization, and project management skills.
Ability to analyze and use data to inform decision-making.
