Wisconsin Northern Highland Area Health Education Center (NH AHEC) Program Manager (remote w/travel) Position Summary The Program Manager leads development, implementation, and evaluation of health-related education programs across the Wisconsin Northern Highland AHEC service region. The position builds and maintains partnerships, manages projects, programs, budgets, and reporting, and collaborates with the Wisconsin AHEC statewide program office, the UW Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, and other statewide partners to strengthen Wisconsin's rural healthcare workforce pathways. Key Responsibilities Lead strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of AHEC healthcare workforce and community-based education programs. Manage AHEC Scholars, Community Health Internship Program (CHIP), student experiential learning, and workforce development initiatives. Develop partnerships with healthcare organizations, schools, higher education, public health agencies, tribal organizations, and community stakeholders. Identify regional workforce and community needs and develop responsive programs and services. Manage program budgets, contracts, grant requirements, program logistics, expenditures, and reporting. Collect, analyze, and report program outcomes; use data for continuous improvement. Support recruitment, outreach, presentations, communications, and promotional activities. Supervise the Rural Health Program Coordinator, and provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development. Represent Northern Highland AHEC at regional and statewide meetings, conferences, and collaborative initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. Degree or experience in education, public health, health sciences, community health, workforce development, non-profit management, project management, or related field. Experience managing programs, projects, partnerships, budgets, or community initiatives. Experience supervising staff, teams, interns, students, or volunteers. Strong communication, public speaking, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proven self-starter and ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google apps, project management, data tracking, and digital learning platforms. Preferred Qualifications. Experience in secondary or post-secondary education, rural health and healthcare, healthcare workforce development, public health, or health professions education. Experience with non-profit leadership, grant-funded programs, contracts, and reporting requirements. Knowledge of rural healthcare workforce challenges and career pathway development. Supervision Reports to the Wisconsin Northern Highland AHEC Executive Director. Work Environment & Full-Time Equivalency (FTE) Remote/home office-based position with frequent regional travel and occasional statewide travel Part-time or full-time FTE negotiable (.7 - 1.0 FTE). Annual Salary Range & Benefits [$47,000-$60,000] full-time, prorated to FTE; Paid time off (PTO), retirement, comp time, disability insurance, life insurance, dental/vision stipend, home office communications stipend, and travel reimbursement are offered.
