Position Overview:
Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning during a particular time period in social studies
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based social studies instruction that promotes critical thinking, historical inquiry, civic responsibility, and global awareness. Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement, academic achievement, and respectful discussion of diverse perspectives. Use data-driven instructional practices and differentiated strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Assess student progress regularly, provide meaningful feedback, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student success. Foster connections between history, geography, economics, civics, and current events through interactive learning experiences, projects, and technology integration.
Minimum Requirements:
Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 026 or applicable
Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
