QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a master's degree and valid South Carolina educator certification in Secondary School Counseling.
LOCATION
Sumter High School
REPORTS TO
Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Works with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom. 2. Guides in the decision making processes concerning academics and personal/social development. 3. Helps students evaluate their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personal characteristics for educational planning. 4. Consults with outside resources/agencies to maximize and coordinate the use of available services. 5. Consults with parents regarding their children, family counseling on school related issues, and meetings for special purposes. 6. Provides services and expertise to and for the students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community. 7. Assists students in developing self-confidence and a positive self-concept. 8. Assists students in strengthening interpersonal skills. 9. Assists students in analyzing personal learning styles and improving individual study skills. 10. Schedules, attends and presents at placement meetings. 11. Confers with teachers and parents whenever necessary. 12. Performs all other related duties as required.

233 Days.
