Job Description

We are seeking our next Adjunct Faculty - Humanities who will be all-in on our mission and who will perform duties primarily related to the instruction of courses in Humanities. Teaching responsibilities include time spent in the classroom, laboratory, online courses, or tech supported classes, and in immediate preparation for respective courses; maintaining and improving competence in subjects being taught; and preparing teaching materials.
EDUCATION
Required:
Master's degree in Humanities, Art History, Classics, Comparative Literature or Fine Arts.
Preferred:
Doctorate Degree Humanities, Art History, Classics, Comparative Literature or Fine Arts.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
Previous post-secondary teaching experience. Teach introduction to Humanities and Fine Arts Appreciation utilizing appropriate and engaging instructional methods and techniques. Plan, develop and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines. Design and implement assessments to measure student learning outcomes. Perform effective teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research and internships. Create engaging lesson plans that promote student involvement and application of the material. Meet with and advise students before/after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods. Submit college reports and forms in a timely manner. Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines. Evaluate students to measure their progress. Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required. Participate in course and curriculum development, revision and evaluation. Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance and academic performance. Perform other work-related duties as required. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
