Part Time Position Description:
The University of Iowa's program in American Sign Language invites applications for a 50% open rank visiting faculty position for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching four courses a year (16 s.h.). This is two sections of ASL per semester (maximum 20 students per section) using an immersive curriculum. How to

Education Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in ASL, Deaf Studies or Interpreting; or equivalent experience
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in ASL Teaching experience and/or equivalent experience (teaching assistantship, teaching practicum, teaching workshops/conference presentations, mentoring interpreters, etc.)
Desirable Qualifications:
Master's Degree in ASL Education, Deaf Studies, Interpreting, or related field Two years' teaching experience at the college level Curriculum Vitae Name and Contact Information of References Letter of Interest Short video of teaching philosophy signed in
