School Year Position Summary Manti Elementary is seeking a positive, organized, and student-centered individual to serve as a School Librarian. The librarian plays an essential role in supporting student achievement by creating a welcoming library environment that promotes literacy, curiosity, and lifelong learning. This individual will work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, and families to ensure the library is an engaging resource that enhances classroom instruction and fosters a love of reading. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operation of the school library. Maintain an organized, attractive, and welcoming library environment. Assist students in locating, selecting, and checking out books and other library resources. Encourage literacy and a love of reading through displays, activities, and reading initiatives. Catalog, shelve, repair, and inventory library materials. Operate the district's library management system to circulate and maintain library resources. Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction and student learning. Assist students in developing information literacy, research, and responsible digital citizenship skills. Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment. Maintain library technology and equipment as assigned. Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning opportunities, and district training as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal. Qualifications High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working with school-age children is preferred. Previous library, media center, or educational experience is desirable. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency with computers and standard educational technology. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent service to students, staff, and patrons.
