9am
  • 4pm, Monday
  • Friday (1/2-hour unpaid lunch break)
QUALIFICATIONS
The staff in the High School Library must provide excellent service to the population of users in the high school library setting. These users include students, staff, parents, and community members. The following criteria will be used to assess the suitability of a candidate for this position: Minimum of high school diploma, some college preferred.

Ability and willingness to work as a member of a cooperative team.

Experience working with students in a school setting.

Knowledge of Information Literacy Skills.

Competency and experience with current educational technologies.

Competency and experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.

Competency and experience working with webpage design.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate.

Director of ICTS and CHS Building Principal
JOB GOAL
To manage the information resources and educational technologies in the school library.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide support activities for HS Library, i.e., assistance in supplies and equipment, requisition entry, meeting arrangements, and other duties deemed necessary.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Chromebooks, printers, photocopier, and other related technology items.
  • Assist teachers in scheduling class visits to the library
  • reviewing resource needs, technology required, and appropriate reservation of space needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive learning environment for students and staff in the library by helping to supervise students and helping to maintain the physical condition of the collection and space.
  • Oversee planning of library events throughout the school year, including scheduling, organization, and other required tasks to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Provide assistance and service to the electronic research area of the high school library, assisting both individual students and classes in online research/information retrieval and with technical issues as needed.
  • Assist with teacher/class/student use of Chelmsford educational technologies providing links, user assistance, etc.
  • Keep track of supply inventory and enter requisitions for materials as needed to maintain appropriate supply levels.
  • Barcode and add new equipment to the circulation system as needed.
  • Assist the other library paraprofessionals, as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Work year, 190 days. Salary and paid holidays to be determined by collective bargaining agreement.
