Job Description

Youth Library Assistant (Part-Time) North Hampton Public Library The North Hampton Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, and dependable Youth Library Assistant to join our team.. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children, teens, and adults, provides exceptional customer service, and thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment. This position is 15-24 hours per week and may include up to 2 evening shifts each week and two Saturdays per month (9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). Responsibilities Perform circulation desk duties, including checking materials in and out and assisting patrons with library accounts. Provide welcoming, courteous customer service to patrons of all ages. Assist children, teens, and adults with locating materials, answering basic reference questions, and connecting them with library resources. Help patrons use library computers, printers, and other technology, including basic troubleshooting. Shelve library materials, shelf-read collections, and maintain orderly public spaces. Process new and returned library materials. Help with book displays. Assist with library programs and special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills. Comfortable using computers and learning library software. Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues. Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team. Enjoy working with patrons of all ages, especially children and families. Education & Experience College degree or equivalent experience preferred. Previous library experience is a plus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Salary $16.50 -$18.00 per hour This is a part-time position and does not include benefits.
