The Millvale Community Library has an immediate opening for part-time Library Desk Clerk position (8 hours per week). We are more than a Library, we are an agent for positive change in our beloved community and would love to have you join us! Library Desk Clerks help our patrons by checking out library materials, locating information, shelving materials, directing patrons to appropriate resources, registering patrons for library cards and providing basic technology assistance. Library Desk Clerks are expected to work as part of a team to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our library. Library Desk Clerks are typically the first face patrons see and therefore should be friendly, courteous and knowledgeable on all things related to the library. Federal Criminal Background Check, PA Criminal Record Check & PA Child Abuse History Clearance are required upon offer of employment. Qualifications Basic reading, writing, technology, math and communication skills Attention to detail and the ability to work independently Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and troubleshoot Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to frequently bend, twist, and lift at least 30 pounds. Experience working in a public setting as part of a team serving a diverse population
Schedule:
Must be available to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Additional hours for events and extra coverage as available/needed.
Salary:
$13 per hour
