About Math Leaders Academy Math Leaders Academy is a math learning center in Schaumburg, Illinois, focused on helping students build strong mathematical foundations, develop problem-solving skills, and succeed in advanced mathematics. We are currently looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dependable High School Math Teacher / Instructor who is comfortable teaching upper-level high school mathematics, including AP-level courses. Position Responsibilities The instructor will provide one-on-one and/or small-group math instruction to middle and high school students.
Primary teaching areas may include:
Algebra I & II Geometry Precalculus AP Precalculus AP Calculus
AB/BC AP
Statistics Other advanced high school mathematics Responsibilities include: Explain mathematical concepts clearly and step-by-step. Help students strengthen fundamental skills and address learning gaps. Support students with current school coursework, quizzes, and exams. Help students prepare for upcoming mathematical concepts and advanced coursework. Provide AP course support and AP exam preparation when applicable. Guide students through problem-solving strategies rather than simply providing answers. Adapt instruction based on each student's academic level and learning needs. Maintain a positive, encouraging, and academically focused learning environment.
Qualifications Required:
Strong knowledge of high school mathematics. Ability to confidently teach advanced high school math such as Algebra II and Precalculus. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly. Reliable, professional, patient, and comfortable working with middle and high school students. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Science, Education, or a related field, or currently pursuing an advanced degree in a related field.
Highly Preferred:
Ability to teach one or more AP-level mathematics courses: AP Precalculus AP Calculus
AB/BC AP
Statistics Current or former high school math teacher. Previous experience teaching or tutoring high school mathematics. Familiarity with College Board AP course expectations and AP exam preparation. Experience with one-on-one or small-group instruction. Schedule This is a part-time position , primarily during after-school hours and/or weekends. Scheduling can be flexible based on instructor and student availability. We prefer instructors who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the school year. Teaching Environment Classes are primarily conducted in person at Math Leaders Academy in Schaumburg, IL . Instruction may include both one-on-one tutoring and small-group classes . What We Are Looking For We are looking for an instructor who enjoys mathematics and genuinely enjoys helping students learn. The ideal candidate should be able to explain not only how to solve a problem but also why a mathematical concept works, helping students become confident and independent problem solvers. Experience teaching AP-level mathematics is highly preferred. Candidates do not need to teach every AP math subject. If you can confidently teach AP Precalculus, AP Calculus, and/or AP Statistics, we strongly encourage you to apply.
