Job Description
MATH TEACHER

AT MONMOUTH ACADEMY
(Anticipated) Monmouth Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher for grades 9-12. The successful candidate will provide a coordinated, developmentally appropriate mathematics curriculum that builds students' problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and confidence in preparation for post-secondary success. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about student learning, skilled at engaging learners of widely varying abilities and readiness levels, and committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and rigorous learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction across courses appropriate to grades 9-12 (e.g., Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and other courses as assigned) Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles, abilities, and skill levels Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative methods, and use data to inform instruction Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress Foster a classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, perseverance, and a positive attitude toward mathematics Collaborate with colleagues, including participation in department and faculty meetings, curriculum development, and professional learning communities Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom expectations Integrate technology and real-world applications into instruction where appropriate Supervise students during class time and other assigned duties (e.g., study halls, academic support periods, etc. as needed) Adhere to school policies, procedures, and the Maine Learning Results standards for mathematics Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance instructional practice
Qualifications:
Possess (or be eligible) Maine DOE certification for Math grades 6-12 (300) Current Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification A passion for working with learners and supporting their growth Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
