Instructor - Mathematics Schoolcraft College - 4.3 Livonia, MI Job Details Contract 1 day ago Qualifications Basic math Research Master's degree Master's degree in mathematics Computer skills Classroom Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary Provide classroom instruction in the mathematics department. Teaching faculty are responsible to their appropriate administrator. This position will start with the Winter 2027 Semester (1/8/2027). Schoolcraft is a comprehensive, open-door, community-based college. The mission of the College is to provide a transformational learning experience designed to increase the capacity of individuals and groups to achieve intellectual, social, and economic goals. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Mathematics that includes significant course work in graduate mathematics from a regionally accredited institution. Two (2) years of teaching experience. Experience with instructional technology. Ability to clearly and correctly communicate mathematical concepts ranging from developmental to advanced levels. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching mathematics at a community college. Evidence of focused engagement in data science or data analytics through coursework, research, publications, or professional experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to integrate information technology effectively into instruction in both traditional and distance learning environments. Understanding of the diverse needs and abilities of community college students, including adult learners and academically underprepared students. Ability to design and adapt instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and abilities. Experience with innovative teaching practices, instructional design, and assessment techniques. Knowledge of and willingness to implement alternative delivery methods and instructional technologies. Experience with or willingness to develop distance learning courses. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff. Physical Demands Schoolcraft College is an AA/EEO Employer.

Writing Skills:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospective and current employees, and groups of managers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Office Environment:

Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
