In person at assigned school site(s) About the Role Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is hiring an enthusiastic Robotics & Coding Instructor to lead hands-on after-school STEM classes across multiple school sites in Menlo Park for 4th-8th Grade students . Students will focus on intro to coding, Scratch-based programming, and robotics, building and testing projects using platforms such as
LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3
. This role is a great fit for college students, recent graduates, educators, engineering or computer science students, robotics instructors, makers, and
STEM/STEAM
professionals who enjoy working with upper-elementary and middle school students. Curriculum and program support are provided. Responsibilities Lead hands-on intro to coding and robotics classes tailored for Grades 4-8 Teach Scratch-based coding and fundamental programming concepts Facilitate robotics projects, building, engineering, and programming challenges using LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Introduce sensors, motors, algorithms, logic, and computational thinking Guide students through building, programming, testing, and troubleshooting Encourage creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment Prepare and organize equipment before class Take attendance and submit brief class updates Qualifications Experience or interest in robotics, coding, computer science, engineering, STEM/STEAM, or maker education Familiarity with Scratch or other block-based coding platforms Comfortable working with 4th-8th Grade students Experience with LEGO Mindstorms EV3, Scratch, coding programs, camps, or after-school STEM programs is preferred Strong communication and classroom-management skills Reliable, patient, organized, and enthusiastic Able to travel to assigned school sites in Menlo Park Multi-Site Assignment Instructors may be assigned to one or more school sites in Menlo Park depending on program needs, experience, and availability. Programs focus strictly on intro to coding, Scratch-based programming, and LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robotics for Grades 4-8 . Candidates available for multiple sites may have opportunities for additional sessions. Why Join Us?
