Job Summary Job Summary The free, short application for the Pittsburg Unified School District (PUSD) Teacher Residency at Alder GSE is now open! The next application deadline is February 5th. PUSD is recruiting a cohort of teacher residents for the PUSD Teacher Residency. This is an innovative and affordable pathway to a full-time teaching career in our community. Residents earn their Master's Degree and Teaching Credential in just one year through the Alder Graduate School of Education, while joining a supportive, mentor-based program with an emphasis on social justice and equity. After the year of residency, graduates receive priority hiring as PUSD teachers. TUITION ~$23,970 tuition for class of 2026-2027 BENEFITS $40,000 living stipend (Residents are not employees of the school) $10,000 Golden State Grant (via either the state or Alder) Additional funding for SPED candidates may be available Up to $5,600 in state/ federal grants Alder Tuition Scholarship of up to $10,000 Up to $20,500 in federal loans Priority hiring for a full-time position at PUSD Master's Degree and Credential in 1 year Priority hiring for a full-time position at the school of residency
