Job Description

Caravel Academy is looking for a Middle and Upper School Health teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Interested applicants should be preferably qualified to teach Health and First Aid. Salary is negotiable at the time of job offer. Discount towards tuition along with additional benefits are available including medical insurance. Qualifications Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Education or Health Field from a regionally accredited college or university with a major or the equivalent in Health field from an educator preparation program. Possess or be eligible for educator licensure and /or certification in Delaware. Creative with the ability to "think out of the box" and engage students in a positive learning experience. Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills. Knowledge of best practices. Criminal background check, tuberculin testing required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide the appropriate educational opportunities and instruction for each student, according to his/her needs and abilities. Prepare in advance appropriate lesson plans which match Caravel's curriculum. Keep accurate records, tests, reports, etc. as required. Establish and maintain good rapport and communication with students, school personnel and parents. Work with fellow teachers in planning instruction. Establish and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning. Plan and use classroom time effectively. Implement School Board and school based policies and procedures in order to uphold school regulations. Integrate technology in instruction. Work continuously toward self-improvement through the active pursuit of professional development activities. Communicate curriculum and student related information effectively in oral and written form. Participate in all meetings (conferences, divisions, departments etc). Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Board of Education, or other Administrators.
