Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Educational Program Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for planning and leading educational and enrichment activities for school-aged children in a safe, supportive, and engaging after-school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage a group of students in grades K-5, ensuring safety and engagement at all times. Plan and deliver age-appropriate academic and enrichment activities in areas such as literacy, STEM, arts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Support students with homework and reinforce classroom learning through fun, hands-on activities. Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and creativity. Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and fellow team members. Maintain accurate attendance and behavior records; report any concerns to program leadership. Set up and clean up activity spaces before and after daily programming. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and special events as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Prior experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting. Completion of DCF initial 45-hour training is preferred. If not already completed, time will be given to complete after hiring. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others and adapt to a dynamic environment. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) preferred. Background check clearance required. Familiarity with driving a 15-passenger van. Clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
Part-time, typically 2-5 hours per weekday afternoon. Indoor and outdoor work environment. Other full time opportunities are available to those that qualify.

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
