Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Teacher for our After School Program to inspire and nurture children in a dynamic, engaging environment. As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive, safe, and educational atmosphere that promotes childhood development and social-emotional growth. Your leadership will ensure that children receive enriching activities tailored to their individual needs, fostering a love of learning and community connection. Duties Plan, organize, and lead engaging after school activities that support early childhood education and childhood development principles Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques Supervise children during all program activities, ensuring safety and adherence to first aid protocols when necessary Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child's unique needs, including those requiring special education accommodations Implement age-appropriate curriculum incorporating arts, sports coaching, theater experiences, and other enrichment activities Maintain a safe environment by following all health and safety regulations, including CPR and first aid procedures Document daily attendance, activity progress, and incident reports accurately for program records This position is located at North Elementary School in Godfrey, IL, YWCA , Alton, IL or at our Roxana IL location. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, camp, or youth programs Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Experience with special education needs or working with children requiring additional support is desired Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Ability to lead activities that promote childhood development across cognitive, social-emotional, and physical domains Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities Join us as a Lead Teacher in our After School Program where your enthusiasm fuels children's curiosity!
