Position Overview AKZ Enrichment Teachers are responsible for facilitating an array of engaging academic-based activities for grades Kindergarten-5th grade. Enrichment Teachers need to be exceptional models of personal integrity, with the ability to convey a positive professional image and maintain confidentiality. They must be self-motivated, patient, and compassionate leaders who want to work with children, and must be able to confidently lead a class of students. Key Responsibilities Plan and facilitate after-school programming at AKZ 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) 2:00-5:30pm. Plan and facilitate summer programming at AKZ 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) 8:30am-3:00pm in the months of June and July. Assist teachers and staff at South Heights Elementary as needed during the school year. Utilize data collected by AKZ's Academic Liaison to plan lessons for assigned groups. Follow all AKZ policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide accommodations to assist students with disabilities to participate in all activities. Develop and maintain program supply lists, following purchase policies Communicate thoroughly and professionally with staff, students, volunteers, interns, and other community stakeholders. Participate in staff meetings and trainings as directed. Perform other duties as assigned with a positive attitude. Implement behavior management techniques and conflict management skills to address behavior issues and create a positive learning environment. Assist in maintaining the facility by keeping all areas clean, organized & secure. Report problems to Executive Director Cooperate and assist with other departments Serve and participate in assigned AKZ fundraisers and community involvement activities. Qualifications & Experience Must be at least 18 years of age or older Must have a valid Drivers License A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required At least one year of experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
